The AIDC and the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster co-operation in academic development, research and capacity building.

The MOU includes the provision of ADR educational and training programs by the AIDC for the students of the university, which is based in Patiala, Punjab. It was signed by AIDC CEO Deborah Lockhart and RGNUL Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal on November 14, and comes into effect immediately.

For the AIDC, the MOU will enhance Australia’s reputation as a regional hub and venue for dispute resolution. RGNUL will promote the AIDC as a premier international dispute resolution venue and promote AIDC’s training programs for the purpose of advancing ADR in legal practice in India.

For the university, the MOU will help boost the international accreditation of it students in ADR. A key goal of the MOU is to provide greater opportunities for research and thought leadership in ADR and its cross-cultural applications.
